Tell us what other non-scifi movies you are going/plan to watch,  have watched recently or in the last months and which ones you do suggest/recommend.

Into the Wild (2007): I was looking for a LOST* alike movie,
and I found this one.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0758758/

Ostrov (2006): Recommended for any 'spoil' but stil/believer
(orthodox or heterodox). A different Faith/spirituality movie.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0851577/

Dagon (2001): Recommended for H.P. Lovecraft's fans.

I had a whole list in my head, then I realized they were all scifi...time to start over.

In Bruges [2008]: Holed up in Bruges, Belgium after a difficult job, two hit men begin to differ on their views of life and death as they become used to local customs.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0780536/  -  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas [2008]: Set during World War II, a story seen through the innocent eyes of Bruno, the eight-year-old son of the commandant at a concentration camp, whose forbidden friendship with a Jewish boy on the other side of the camp fence has startling and unexpected consequences.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0914798/

Taxi Driver [1976]: A mentally unstable Vietnam war veteran works as nighttime taxi driver in a city whose perceived decadence and sleaze feeds his urge to violently lash out, attempting to save a teenage prostitute in the process.

you might get more people to watch Taxi Driver if you mentioned who the stars are: Robert De Niro and Jody Foster.

a few that I found by accident or because someone made me watch them, lol

The Caveman's Valentine - A cave-dwelling man sets out to track down the killer of a frozen homeless boy and bring him to justice. This disturbed guy is played wonderfully by Samuel L. Jackson. It has suspense, mystery, mental illness, and a murder. Watch it.

Forrest Gump - Forrest Gump, while not intelligent, has accidentally been present at many historic moments, but his true love, Jenny, eludes him until the end. Great guest stars. Tom Hanks won an Oscar. Life is like a box of chocolates. Hear that, QS?

The Brave One - A woman struggles to recover from a brutal attack by setting out on a mission for revenge. Jody Foster played the character pretty darn spot on. I'd want my dog back too. Lost fans: her boyfriend that dies is Naveen Andrews.

Strings - Enter the World of the mannequin.  Tied by Hate.   Bound by love.

Strings is a mythological story about the son of a king, Hal Tara, who sets out on a journey to revenge the death of his father. To his surprise he discovers the truth of his own people - and where he least expects it - he finds true love

Ninja 2009 (Good if you like ninjutsu, kind of martial art's "Fairy Tales" here in the western side of the world. Iron man (the ninja version maybe): New ninja moviez in short diz.

At imdb says "cheesy but pretty enjoyable" but imo not like these days marvel's ones but has something in that style, perhaps not about a super hero but of an almost super ninja foe, showing how deadly could be getting modern ninja warfare. I think it has been reasonably underrated and satirized: If you like marvel movies you would value also some more reachable for a mortal joe and it's bits of wisdom too. I prescribe that if you have a mitee deficiency Wink just don't try to imitate what Icarus did Tongue2 cuz that could bring 'SCARrfooly' results (specially if you don't know human fly basics ( I'm the doctor here  - I can say that remember  Wink ). Sole dorsal wings would NOT* work not even for Birdman Grin ...Hmm but the energy from the sun thing it's not completely a myth  Thinking...).

 A Clockwork Orange

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066921/

In future Britain, charismatic delinquent Alex DeLarge is jailed and later volunteers for an experimental aversion therapy developed by the government in an effort to solve society's crime problem... but not all goes to plan.

A Clockwork Orange
YES. It's a Kubric. That's all you need to say.

Surprisingly, I'm going to suggest Ingluorious Basterds. I am very anti-Tarantino, but this was a great film.

Strange Brew: an SCTV spin-off movie starring Dave Thomas and Rick Moranis as Bob and Doug McKenzie, a pair of lovable beer swilling Canadian brothers who get a job in a brewery and become embroiled in a madman's conspiracy to take over the world. Also starring Max Von Sydow.

Phantom of the Paradise: a 1974 Rock Musical directed by Brian DePalma starring and scored by Paul Williams (The Muppet Movie). Far better and funnier than the concurrent and better known Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Arsenic and Old Lace: early 40s black comedy based upon a stage play. Stars Cary Grant as a newlywed who must contend with the newfound knowledge that his lovable aunts are a couple of serial killing lunatics. Co-starring Peter Lorre.

Beyond the Valley of the Dolls: Mainstream effort by the inimitable Russ Meyer about a girl group in the late 60s who lose their souls to sex, drugs, and Hollywood superstardom. Written by Roger Ebert.

I'll not bore any of you with classic masterpieces that everyone knows and loves. I'll try to supply some films that you might not have heard of and that are well worth a look.

I Sell the Dead - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0902290/

A comedy/horror flick that I enjoyed a lot. The tale of a pair of Victorian grave robbers. With Dominic Monaghan and Ron Perlman.

Layer Cake - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0375912/

A british gangster movie starring Daniel Craig. In my opinion, this is the best british gangster movie since The Long Good Friday.

Grizzly Man - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0427312/

A phenomenal documentary by the great Werner Herzog. It's about the life and demise of the grizzly bear activist Timothy Treadwell.

Ripley's Game - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0265651/

Most people have heard of The Talented Mr Ripley, but seem to have completely missed this, in my opinion, far better Ripley movie. It's about an older Tom Ripley living in Italy. It stars John Malkovich and has a much more interesting mood and story.

Pusher - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117407/

Pusher is a danish gangster/drama film. It stars the danish Al Pacino, Kim Bodnia.

What is this Non-SciFi?  Is there such a thing?

I can't really think of anything non-scifi except maybe THE ROAD.  It looks really cool to me.  I'm a big fan of alternate history and big disasters and such.
